Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Walter Nolen got past him. The Chiefs do not have to explain a thing at slot 167. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

They will need Gadsden II to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.
