The rest of the league had time to spare on Quintayvious Hutchins; the 49ers did not wait, grabbing him 56 spots ahead at the 138th pick. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Landing Thieneman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 27 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Dillon Thieneman at slot 58 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A conviction pick on Isaiah World at No. 127 that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A real head-scratcher, Beau Stephens in the Round 4 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A wild overpay on Quintayvious Hutchins in pick 138, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Marlin Klein. It fills a real need, too.
