The Vikings clearly saw something nobody else did in Jared Wiley, taking him 37 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. Landing Smith-Wade that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
