The Packers looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Jaylen Wright at slot 125 regardless, 36 picks early. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Packers indulged a want in Bishop while a need in quarterback and tight end stayed open. The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Prather pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a centerfielder for the defense. More want than need.
Troy Fautanu slid further than he should have, and the 41st overall pick is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took Brandon Dorlus at par in pick 57, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Mike Sainristil in pick No. 88 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
By-the-book stuff, Michael Hall Jr. at Round 3, Pick 29 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jaylen Wright at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They bypassed pressing needs at quarterback and tight end to take Cole Bishop, a safety that was not the priority.
Michael Barrett at pick No. 203 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A quiet steal in the 217th overall pick: Jonah Monheim for less than the market said. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kaden Prather at No. 219 is the proof. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Turner Corcoran is a better player than the 246th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
