Somebody in the 256th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Chiefs sat still while Antwane Wells Jr., the No. 191 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
