When the story of this class is written, it opens with Kaelon Black at No. 197, a reach of 30 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. That Everette pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Jacob Rodriguez in slot 54 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Eli Stowers at the 68th overall pick is money in the bank, a tight end taken below his worth. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Daylen Everette at the 98th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Oscar Delp in pick 114, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Parker Brailsford at No. 137 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had cheaper options than Taylen Green at the 178th overall pick, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value said wait; Kaelon Black in the 197th pick says they were not listening. A need, and now a little less of one.
