The rest of the league will want that one back. Garret Greenfield tumbling to the Chiefs in Round 7, Pick 32 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 32 they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Value with a capital V on DJ James in pick No. 64, a genuine coup. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Brandon Dorlus is a better player than Round 3, Pick 32 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jamari Thrash at slot 132 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A straight-up fair deal on Dylan Laube at the 159th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
The board had Dwight McGlothern higher than No. 173, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Garret Greenfield in the Round 7 slot, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
