Dallas Cowboys
Best value of the weekend goes to the Cowboys for Speights: B.

2024 NFL Draft
· 7 picks
· 2 steals
· 0 reaches
This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Omar Speights, the No. 223 name on the board, stolen at the Round 7 slot.
For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 24 they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Xavier Worthy at the 56th pick. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Christian Haynes at the 87th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 124 with a little surplus value in MarShawn Lloyd. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Joe Milton III at pick No. 174 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good price on Jonah Monheim in No. 212, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Circle this one: Omar Speights at the Round 7 slot is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
