The Taylen Green pick is the one that will follow the Falcons into the fall. They took him 66 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Caldwell falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
A conviction pick on Zachariah Branch at slot 48 that the board grades a round light. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Daylen Everette went about where he belonged in the 79th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A big swing on Taylen Green at pick No. 122, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A wide receiver of that caliber at No. 215 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nick Barrett. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
