This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Jack Kiser, the No. 196 name on the board, stolen at pick No. 243. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Ratledge reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They liked Tate Ratledge enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 2 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Alfred Collins in the 89th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A running back of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 26 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Quincy Riley at slot 167 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Jack Kiser at the 243rd overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
