Nobody had Vincent Anthony Jr. this high, and it is not close. The Cowboys reached 116 spots to get him at the 112th overall pick. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Rodriguez at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.
So much rides on Sonny Styles that the real verdict is a season or two away.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 20th overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dillon Thieneman. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Omar Cooper Jr. in pick No. 67 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jacob Rodriguez at pick 90 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Vincent Anthony Jr. in No. 112 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
They let Isaiah World come to them and pounced at slot 152. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
