The Ben Sinnott pick is the one that will follow the Commanders into the fall. They took him 71 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Everything downstream of Caleb Williams depends on Caleb Williams, and the building knows it. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jones.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 2 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A real need, handled.
Kamren Kinchens in the Round 2 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A wild overpay on Ben Sinnott in Round 3, Pick 3, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They reached into another round for Jaheim Bell, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Mike Sainristil in the 102nd pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Javion Cohen at pick 141, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Aki Ogunbiyi. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Christian Jones at Round 7, Pick 3 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
