Somebody in the 239th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Dolphins sat still while Tyrone Tracy Jr., the No. 206 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Troy Fautanu at the 37th pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Circle this one: Kamari Lassiter at Round 2, Pick 21 is a fall that decides a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
They let Tommy Eichenberg come to them and pounced at No. 139. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jordan Travis at slot 155 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Kitan Oladapo in pick 186 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Javon Baker at the Round 6 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Tyrone Tracy Jr. at the 239th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
