Thirty-one other rooms let Jadarian Price slide, and the Bears were the ones holding the card at the 129th overall pick. Highway robbery. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Jacas has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gabe Jacas. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 2, Pick 25 with a little surplus value in A.J. Haulcy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Lee Hunter slid further than he should have, and pick No. 60 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Logan Jones at the 89th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A running back of that caliber at slot 129 is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board fumbled TJ Hall all the way to the 239th overall pick, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
By-the-book stuff, Eli Heidenreich at No. 241 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
