The Packers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jamari Thrash, the No. 91 name on the board, in pick 125.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They will need Nubin to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The back end got a real overhaul.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a ballhawk on the back end, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
They paid sticker price for T.J. Tampa in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kris Jenkins at pick 57 is money in the bank, a edge rusher taken below his worth. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They paid a round early for Audric Estime in slot 88, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Zak Zinter at pick No. 91 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jamari Thrash at No. 125 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It fills a real need, too.
Isaiah Adams in the 135th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
