The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Commanders spent their marquee pick on Caleb Williams, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The Jackson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise. A clean fit for the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jordan Morgan. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Chris Braswell at pick 40 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Payton Wilson slipping to the 67th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor need, but a need all the same.
