The Bears' one glaring miss is edge rusher, a need they left exactly as they found it. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
The Roush value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They are betting Cisse proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at slot 62. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 63 with a little surplus value in Christen Miller. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They did well to land Connor Lew in No. 89, just ahead of his grade. It fills a real need, too.
A slide stopped in pick No. 106, with Sam Roush worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Darrell Jackson Jr. slipping to Round 4, Pick 15 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Harold Perkins Jr. at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, J.C. Davis at the 131st pick squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
Eli Heidenreich at the Round 7 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Luke Altmyer in the 241st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
