They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Adam Randall, 40 picks early at pick 236. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
Gennings Dunker in Round 2, Pick 20 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at slot 84 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid up for Charles Demmings at the Round 4 slot when waiting would have done the job. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They reached a country mile for Marlin Klein at pick 139, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Hezekiah Masses at pick No. 160 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Taylen Green slipping to the 201st overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Adam Randall at No. 236 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They took Jack Kelly at par in slot 255, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
