The rest of the league will want that one back. Danny Stutsman tumbling to the Cardinals in Round 5, Pick 14 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
If Scott pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 16 they get an anchor for the offensive line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Aeneas Peebles at the 47th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
You do not let an interior defensive lineman like Tyleik Williams reach pick No. 78 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Xavier Scott at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Danny Stutsman at Round 5, Pick 14 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
