When a board-topper like Khyree Jackson slides to the 184th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Dolphins did not. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Jadeveon Clowney gives the group a proven body among the projects.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 30 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Kingsley Suamataia at pick 55, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They paid sticker price for Javon Bullard in the 62nd overall pick, and that is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A tidy bit of business in Round 5, Pick 22, where Trevor Keegan graded well above the range. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Khyree Jackson in the 184th pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A minor itch, scratched.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 198 with a little surplus value in Justin Rogers. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Ryan Flournoy in the Round 7 slot is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
