You could see the war room lean forward. Jordyn Tyson at pick No. 206 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, David Bailey in slot 57, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Steal is underselling it; Spencer Fano at the 60th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Mansoor Delane at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a tight end like Sam Roush reach pick No. 129 and blink. They did not. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They will replay Jordyn Tyson at pick 206 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Genesis Smith in No. 239 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Taking Connor Lew in Round 7, Pick 25 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
