The Patriots put a flag in the ground for Joe Milton III, 99 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The Liufau pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th pick they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Brian Thomas Jr. at pick 27 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They reached into another round for Dominick Puni, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A cornerback of that caliber at the 68th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor itch, scratched.

A real head-scratcher, Joe Milton III in pick No. 110 is miles ahead of his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jaheim Bell at Round 6, Pick 5 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Circle this one: Marist Liufau at the 193rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Jaylan Ford in pick No. 231, plain and simple. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
