The Packers clearly saw something nobody else did in Jimmy Horn Jr., taking him 95 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
Sanders at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Shavon Revel Jr. in the 24th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A slide stopped in the 56th pick, with Jihaad Campbell worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Value with a capital V on Andrew Mukuba in pick No. 88, a genuine coup. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Nice patience on Cam Skattebo, who had no business lasting to slot 125. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Sonny Styles all the way to No. 159, and they scooped it up. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Jimmy Horn Jr. at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The roster fit checks out.
Raheim Sanders at pick No. 237 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Kamren Fabiculanan in Round 7, Pick 34 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
