Call it larceny. Dontay Corleone sat on the board until No. 108, and the Broncos did not need to be asked twice.
If Pena pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
A quiet steal in slot 32: Kenyon Sadiq for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They will replay Dontay Corleone at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Julian Neal at the 111th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Trebor Pena. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They paid sticker price for Wesley Bissainthe in the 256th pick, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They read the board right and Alan Herron was the payoff at pick 257. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
