The Que Robinson pick is the one that will follow the Browns into the fall. They took him 68 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.
However the rest shakes out, Simon at that price is a win they earned. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 2 they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A wild overpay on Josaiah Stewart in pick No. 33, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board fumbled Aireontae Ersery all the way to pick 67, and they scooped it up. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Quinn Ewers in the 94th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They talked themselves into Tahj Brooks at the 103rd overall pick, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Cody Simon still on the board at the Round 5 slot. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Que Robinson. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Davin Vann at the 194th pick, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
