Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Seahawks did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to offensive lineman, which was the need that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Adding Lil'Jordan Humphrey by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies. The phones were busy but the ledger stayed level.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick-by-Pick

R2.30 · Pick 62 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 61
They paid sticker price for Keionte Scott in the Round 2 slot, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · LT Overton · DE-EDGE · rank 62
LT Overton at the 64th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Bud Clark · S · rank 103
No drama and no debate, Bud Clark went about where he belonged in the 96th pick. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
R5.30 · Pick 170 · Kaleb Elarms-Orr · LB · rank 176
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kaleb Elarms-Orr. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.7 · Pick 188 · Eric McAlister · WR · rank 192
They took Eric McAlister at par in Round 6, Pick 7, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
