You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Chiefs did exactly that with Jimmy Horn Jr. in the 256th pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Getting Warren where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a moveable chess piece at tight end, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They took Deone Walker at par in slot 63, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value with a capital V on TreVeyon Henderson in pick 66, a genuine coup. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value said wait; Anthony Belton in the 95th overall pick says they were not listening. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Rylie Mills at pick No. 132 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
