It is the swing that defines the weekend: Trey Moore in pick No. 157, a good 30 spots before the room expected him. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Parker II. They punted on linebacker, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but linebacker.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 17th pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They talked themselves into Romello Height at pick 50, and the board did not agree. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
The board had cheaper options than Jude Bowry at the 118th overall pick, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Brian Parker II in slot 128 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Trey Moore well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They let Caleb Douglas come to them and pounced at the Round 5 slot. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reach for David Gusta in the 205th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Nice patience on VJ Payne, who had no business lasting to the Round 6 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Jeremiah Wright at the 222nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
