There is reaching, and then there is Cam Miller at Round 5, Pick 14. The Cardinals jumped the board by 101 and dared it to prove them wrong. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.
Walker at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick-by-Pick
Cameron Williams in the 16th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Jalon Walker was still sitting there in the 47th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Darien Porter in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A wild overpay on Rylie Mills in pick No. 113, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Cam Miller at pick 151 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
