Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals drew a line under the quarterback search with Ewers: C+.

The Jack Nelson pick is the one that will follow the Cardinals into the fall. They took him 75 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. It washes out to a C+, no better and no worse.

That Lawson pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The whole projection now runs through Quinn Ewers; hit there and everything else looks smarter. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.

Hit on Quinn Ewers and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.18 · Pick 18 · Quinn Ewers · QB · rank 65
Quinn Ewers in the Round 1 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R2.17 · Pick 49 · Jack Nelson · OT · rank 124
They left a pile of value on the table to take Jack Nelson this early at the 49th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.16 · Pick 80 · Tyleik Williams · DT · rank 62
Tyleik Williams in slot 80 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
R4.18 · Pick 119 · Howard Cross III · DL · rank 155
They talked themselves into Howard Cross III at the 119th pick, and the board did not agree. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.16 · Pick 154 · Deontae Lawson · LB · rank 94
Deontae Lawson at No. 154 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
