The rest of the league will want that one back. Noah Fifita tumbling to the Packers in slot 147 is a gift they did not have to think twice about. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They will need Nelson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 19 they get a problem off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board fumbled Tacario Davis all the way to slot 51, and they scooped it up. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Oscar Delp in pick 83 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It fills a real need, too.
Taking Jason Henderson in Round 4, Pick 19 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Somehow Noah Fifita was still sitting there in pick No. 147, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Circle this one: Grayson McCall at the 179th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A premium they did not need to pay, Jack Nelson a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
