The Titans spent real capital to be 49 picks early on Mason Reiger, and the board is going to hold them to it.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Ponds value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
They went 7 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th pick they get a bell-cow for the offense. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy little value on Denzel Boston in slot 35, a step better than break-even. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow D'Angelo Ponds was still sitting there in No. 66, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Mason Reiger in pick No. 101 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Harold Perkins Jr. at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
Nice patience on Joe Royer, who had no business lasting to Round 5, Pick 4. A need, and now a little less of one.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at the 184th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Aamil Wagner in Round 6, Pick 13 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Bryson Eason at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
