The Commanders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Xavier Thomas, the No. 143 name on the board, in the 222nd pick.

Everything downstream of Jayden Daniels depends on Jayden Daniels, and the building knows it. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

It is not that Solomon is a bad player; it is that the Commanders had louder needs to answer first.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
