The one they had to fix is still broken. The Vikings left tight end untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.
Landing Zinter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They will need Limmer to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Adding Darius Slay by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

They read the board right and Dallas Turner was the payoff at No. 27. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Value with a capital V on J.J. McCarthy in the 56th overall pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Michael Hall Jr.. It fills a real need, too.
Zak Zinter slid further than he should have, and pick 108 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
MarShawn Lloyd in the Round 4 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had cheaper options than Beaux Limmer at slot 130, and it noticed. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy bit of business in the 137th pick, where Cole Bishop graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at pick No. 148 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They let Jaylin Simpson come to them and pounced at the 160th pick. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Braelon Allen slipping to pick No. 165 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A clean, defensible pick in the 179th overall pick with a little surplus value in Jaylan Ford. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They did well to land Zakhari Franklin in slot 230, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A straight-up fair deal on Tatum Bethune at the Round 7 slot, value and slot in agreement. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
