Give the war room a raise for the dealing alone. The Vikings came out ahead on every exchange that mattered, and it was not close.
For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Rogers reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Pritchett falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Jared Verse at the Round 1 slot, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
T.J. Tampa at the 42nd overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
J.J. McCarthy in the 48th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Ray Davis at pick No. 108 squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They talked themselves into Justin Rogers at pick 130, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Javion Cohen at Round 5, Pick 12 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They barely believed it either: Nehemiah Pritchett still on the board at slot 160. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
They took Grayson Murphy at par in No. 165, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tanor Bortolini in slot 179 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Eric Gentry at pick No. 230 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
