When a board-topper like Jawhar Jordan slides to Round 7, Pick 6, you do not overthink it, and the Chargers did not. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered. The skill positions did well by the weekend.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Brock Bowers at the 5th pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
Brian Thomas Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 37th overall pick is lovely value for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Good price on Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick 69, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
McKinnley Jackson in slot 105 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kamal Hadden in the Round 5 slot. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Julian Pearl at Round 6, Pick 8 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Jawhar Jordan in No. 226 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
