The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Jordan Magee, the No. 202 name on the board, in the 233rd pick.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Will Hernandez pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Few war rooms will sleep better than this one tonight.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 12 they get a true top target. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Chop Robinson at pick 39 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the edge rusher. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Value with a capital V on Ennis Rakestraw Jr. in the 47th overall pick, a genuine coup. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Kiran Amegadjie reach Round 3, Pick 7 and blink. They did not. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They will replay Christian Mahogany at the Round 4 slot for years; that is how good the value is. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, MarShawn Lloyd at the 143rd pick. It fills a real need, too.
Joe Milton III in pick No. 185 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Somehow Jordan Magee was still sitting there in No. 233, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A minor need, but a need all the same.
