You build a draft on nights like this. Kimani Vidal had no business being available in the Round 7 slot, and the Giants did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A to cap it.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Bottom line, with Taliese Fuaga leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Adonai Mitchell at pick 42 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Value with a capital V on Kamren Kinchens in slot 47, a genuine coup. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Edgerrin Cooper at the 74th overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Cooper Beebe in Round 4, Pick 7 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No edge and no loss on McCallan Castles in pick No. 150; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Taking Nehemiah Pritchett in the 161st pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Steal is underselling it; Kimani Vidal at No. 223 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It fills a real need, too.
