The search is over. The Commanders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A to cap it.
They banked enough surplus on Bailey to cover a lot of smaller sins. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jayden Daniels and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
A tidy bit of business in pick 36, where Amarius Mims graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A slide stopped in slot 45, with Chop Robinson worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Ja'Tavion Sanders slid further than he should have, and the Round 3 slot is lovely value for the tight end. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Zak Zinter in pick No. 100 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nice patience on McKinnley Jackson, who had no business lasting to the 102nd overall pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They let Tommy Eichenberg come to them and pounced at Round 5, Pick 5. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
They will replay Jaylin Simpson at No. 181 for years; that is how good the value is. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Emani Bailey at the 223rd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
