The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. If Monheim pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
The Milton III steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
Bottom line, it will take a lot of luck to make this look better later.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 3 they get a blindside protector at fair value.
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Value with a capital V on Denzel Burke in slot 57, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Edgerrin Cooper. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No drama and no debate, Tyler Davis went about where he belonged in pick No. 97. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jalen McMillan in pick 104. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Cade Stover in the 133rd pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Jaden Hicks is a better player than the Round 5 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A reach on Jonah Monheim in No. 157; the board had better options right there. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Joe Milton III slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the quarterback. The roster fit checks out.
Jason Henderson at pick No. 246 is money in the bank, a linebacker taken below his worth. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
