Everything else got attention, and interior defensive lineman got none. That is a strange way for the Giants to leave a draft. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.
Josh Myers gives the group a proven body among the projects. The Smith steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
A straight-up fair deal on Rome Odunze at No. 12, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good price on Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 9, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The roster fit checks out.
They took Tyler Guyton at par in the 47th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in the 70th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tykee Smith in pick No. 107. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Cooper Beebe in the Round 4 slot is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Theo Johnson in slot 143; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Christian Jones in pick 185 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
