There is a lot to like until you notice safety is still a hole. The Vikings never got to the one that mattered most. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That is a quarterback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th pick they get a problem off the edge at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A reasonable price with a little left over, T.J. Tampa in pick No. 44. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Tyler Davis slid further than he should have, and Round 4, Pick 8 is lovely value for the interior defensive lineman. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A quiet steal in pick 130: Ainias Smith for less than the market said. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
No edge and no loss on Dylan Laube in slot 148; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Javion Cohen at the 160th overall pick is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A slide stopped in the Round 5 slot, with Sincere Haynesworth worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Joe Milton III at No. 179. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Trevor Keegan in pick No. 230 is fair value, right on his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
