When a board-topper like Isaiah Davis slides to pick No. 202, you do not overthink it, and the Packers did not. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Reed reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Chris Braswell at pick 41 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
T.J. Tampa at the 58th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Dominick Puni in No. 88 is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Christian Mahogany in slot 91, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
The board had Will Shipley higher than the 126th overall pick, and the running back fell to them anyway. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Value with a capital V on Kitan Oladapo in Round 5, Pick 33, a genuine coup. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They robbed the room for Isaiah Davis here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nothing to complain about; Garret Greenfield went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
They took Jalen Sundell at par in the 245th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A real head-scratcher, Austin Reed in No. 255 is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
