The rest of the league had time to spare on Keilan Robinson; the Packers did not wait, grabbing him 132 spots ahead at Round 7, Pick 31.

Kinchens falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Packers indulged a want in Kinchens while a need in quarterback, wide receiver and other spots stayed open.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kool-Aid McKinstry · CB · rank 25
In the 25th overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Tyler Nubin · S · rank 40
They took Tyler Nubin at par in the Round 2 slot, which is nothing to complain about. A minor itch, scratched.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Brandon Dorlus · DE-EDGE · rank 79
A wild overpay on Brandon Dorlus in No. 58, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 57
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Kamren Kinchens adds a safety and leaves quarterback, wide receiver and other spots untouched.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 97
Christian Mahogany at the 91st pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · James Williams · S · rank 118
They zigged when the board said zag, taking James Williams at safety with quarterback, wide receiver and other spots open.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 195
A big swing on Jaylan Ford at the 168th overall pick, well ahead of any board in the building. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Elijah Jones · CB · rank 193
The board had Elijah Jones higher than pick No. 204, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Brevyn Spann-Ford · TE · rank 237
Brevyn Spann-Ford in slot 216 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The roster fit checks out.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Trevin Wallace · LB · rank 234
Trevin Wallace slid further than he should have, and pick 243 is lovely value for the linebacker. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Keilan Robinson · RB · rank 383
Value said wait; Keilan Robinson in the 251st pick says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
