The rest of the league will want that one back. M.J. Devonshire tumbling to the Cowboys in the Round 7 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a bendy edge with upside, and a steal at that.
They read the board right and Roman Wilson was the payoff at slot 56. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They will replay Patrick Paul at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Michael Hall Jr. at pick No. 88 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A slide stopped in pick 174, with Hunter Nourzad worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Somehow Dillon Johnson was still sitting there in No. 202, and they pounced on premier running back value. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Ty'Ron Hopper at Round 6, Pick 41 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in the 233rd overall pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They let Nathan Thomas come to them and pounced at pick 244. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They barely believed it either: M.J. Devonshire still on the board at Round 7, Pick 25. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
