Start where it matters. The Commanders took Jayden Daniels to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The Wilson steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, Jayden Daniels and all.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 7 they get a passer to set the clock by. A real need, handled.
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jordan Morgan in Round 2, Pick 4 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Keon Coleman at the 38th pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Circle this one: Terrion Arnold at the 40th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Payton Wilson at pick No. 67 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Steal is underselling it; Johnny Wilson at slot 102 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, McCallan Castles at No. 141 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Ty'Ron Hopper at Round 6, Pick 6 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Roger Rosengarten reach pick 223 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
