Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cardinals were there to profit. Carson Schwesinger, the No. 87 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 5 slot. More right than wrong, and a B+ to match.
The Cornelius pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 22nd overall pick they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Donovan Ezeiruaku in the 47th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Alfred Collins at slot 55, value and slot in agreement. The roster fit checks out.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Ajani Cornelius in pick No. 78, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A tight end of that caliber at the Round 4 slot is the definition of value, full stop. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Somehow Dylan Fairchild was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 23, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Steal is underselling it; Carson Schwesinger at No. 153 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
