Thirty-one other rooms let T.J. Sanders slide, and the Patriots were the ones holding the card at Round 7, Pick 25. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Good work on the whole, with safety the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Wyatt Milum at the 22nd pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A need, and now a little less of one.
Steal is underselling it; Tate Ratledge at the 69th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Walter Nolen in No. 79 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tre Harris in slot 126 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Josaiah Stewart in pick No. 201, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: T.J. Sanders still on the board at pick 241. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
