Green Bay Packers

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Packers and Isaac: B-.

Call it larceny. Adisa Isaac sat on the board until No. 88, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Henderson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

Their trades came out a wash either way.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Kamren Kinchens · S · rank 25
In pick 25 they get a rangy last line of defense. Need was not the driver here.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Kalen King · CB · rank 42
Kalen King at the Round 2 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.1 · Pick 65 · Christian Mahogany · OG · rank 80
Christian Mahogany at pick No. 65 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Adisa Isaac · DE-EDGE · rank 63
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Adisa Isaac in No. 88, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R3.29 · Pick 92 · Braden Fiske · DL · rank 84
Braden Fiske is a better player than the 92nd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
R4.25 · Pick 125 · Cedric Gray · LB · rank 130
Cedric Gray at Round 4, Pick 25 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
R4.35 · Pick 135 · LaDarius Henderson · OT · rank 159
LaDarius Henderson in the 135th overall pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
R6.28 · Pick 203 · Omar Speights · LB · rank 201
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Omar Speights. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.42 · Pick 217 · Myles Jones · CB · rank 204
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Myles Jones at slot 217 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.44 · Pick 219 · Mark Perry · S · rank 235
They paid a round early for Mark Perry in the 219th pick, more than the board wanted. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R7.26 · Pick 246 · Demani Richardson · S · rank 238
A slide stopped in pick No. 246, with Demani Richardson worth more than the price. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
