The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Chiefs watched Jordan Morgan slide 30 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a matchup problem out wide. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Taking Jordan Morgan in the 64th overall pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Mekhi Wingo went about where he belonged in the 95th pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jarrian Jones at the Round 4 slot is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Luke McCaffrey at Round 5, Pick 23. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They read the board right and Trevor Keegan was the payoff at No. 173. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nice patience on Edefuan Ulofoshio, who had no business lasting to slot 221. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
